Karla Ziegler is a retired teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching elementary school aged students in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Her fondest memories of teaching are those made by weaving the arts into the required curriculum, particularly reading and writing.

Partnering with colleagues to write grants provided valuable experiences for children to meet various artists with multiple talents. The sparkling eyes and joyful connections would fuel art education in the schools for a number of years. It was a joy to watch students with various learning styles and abilities reach an extended potential through a variety of mediums. To enable her students to love learning and experience creative ways to learn made for a joyful career!
